With the news today that Kodak is preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection<\/a>, it seems like the right time to share a Kodak photo wallet you would have received had your film been developed in the UK during the ’30s.<\/p>\n

Why do I believe this promotional item—which I found among my mother-in-law’s possessions—was from the ’30s? Because the Kodascope Library, referenced inside, only operated from 1924 to 1939, and I doubt that Madeline Carroll was a big enough star in the ’20s to have been touted as “famous” that early.<\/p>\n

So farewell, Kodak! <\/p>\n

But I guess it’s all my fault, as I’ve been all digital for a decade. As I remember telling Charles Brown, who was searching for more film to load in his camera back in 2002 while we were attending a science fiction convention in Cuba, “Film? Who needs film?”<\/p>\n
