And so, after the chatting and chewing I&#8217;ve done with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2021\/12\/24\/jose-pablo-iriarte\/\">Jos\u00e9 Pablo Iriarte<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2022\/01\/07\/fonda-lee\/\">Fonda Lee<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2022\/01\/21\/usman-t-malik\/\">Usman T. Malik<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2022\/02\/04\/daryl-gregory\/\">Daryl Gregory<\/a>, we arrive at the D.C. Worldcon&#8217;s final culinary conversation.<\/p>\n<p>My guest for brunch at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unconventionaldiner.com\">Unconventional Diner<\/a> &#8212; about which <em>Washington Post<\/em> food critic Tom Sietsema wrote &#8212; when he placed the restaurant at #4 on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/magazine\/interactive\/2021\/best-restaurants-in-dc-2021\/\">his Fall dining guide<\/a> last year &#8212; &#8220;No restaurant fed me more often, or better, throughout the pandemic than French chef David Deshaies\u2019s whimsical tribute to American comfort food.\u201d &#8212; was two-time Hugo Award finalist Natalie Luhrs.<\/p>\n<p>Luhrs was first nominated in 2017 for Best Fan Writer, and then again last year in the Best Related Work category for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pretty-terrible.com\/george-r-r-martin-2020-hugo-awards\/\">her essay <\/a>&#8220;George R.R. Martin Can Fuck Off Into the Sun, Or: The 2020 Hugo Awards Ceremony (Rageblog Edition).&#8221; She&#8217;s the former science fiction and fantasy reviewer for <em>Romantic Times Book Reviews<\/em> and was briefly an acquisitions editor for Masque Books, the digital imprint of Prime.
