I may have given you the impression, based on the three<\/a> previous<\/a> episodes<\/a> of Eating the Fantastic, that all I ate while I was in Kansas City for this year’s World Science Fiction Convention was BBQ<\/a>. Not true! This episode’s guest requested sushi, which led us Bob Wasabi Kitchen<\/a>, giving me some respite from the meat sweats.<\/p>\n

And who’s the guest this time? Kathleen Ann Goonan, whose first novel, Queen City Jazz<\/em>, was a New York Time<\/em>s Notable Book of the Year, and who won the John W. Campbell Memorial Award for Best Science Fiction Novel for In War Times<\/em>. And, I should add, who wrote the story, \u201cThe Bride of Elvis,\u201d which I had the honor of publishing twenty years ago (yikes!), back when I was editing Science Fiction Age<\/em> magazine.<\/p>\n
