(A belief, by the way, which eventually caused me to create my podcast <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/tag\/eating-the-fantastic\/\">Eating the Fantastic<\/a>.) Well, the meal I had last Friday night during an escape from Capclave with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pretty-terrible.com\/author\/natalie\/\">Natalie Luhrs<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/dreamingaboutotherworlds.blogspot.com\">Aaron and Angela Pound<\/a> proved my point.<\/p>\n<p>A couple of days before Capclave, I learned that Range&#8212;which I&#8217;d visited many times before, one of those times being  for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2015\/10\/12\/capclave-on-the-range\/\">a meal<\/a> on a break from <em>last<\/em> year&#8217;s Capclave&#8212;would be holding a two-day pop-up by Charleston&#8217;s Jeffrey Stoneberger, chef and owner of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.2nixons.com\">2Nixons<\/a>, which has earned itself quite a rep for its take on Asian street food. And the first of those two days happened to be the first day of the con. So you know I <em>had<\/em> to be there.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Range2Nixons-Announcement.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Range2Nixons-Announcement-214x300.jpg\" alt=\"range2nixons-announcement\" width=\"214\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-22556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Range2Nixons-Announcement-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/Range2Nixons-Announcement.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 214px) 100vw, 214px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Stoneberger had previously staged at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2014\/09\/19\/a-pre-worldcon-lunch-at-the-fat-duck\/\">The Fat Duck<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2015\/04\/07\/celebrating-my-birthday-with-dinner-at-noma-the-worlds-1-restaurant\/\">Noma<\/a>,  so you wouldn&#8217;t expect him to be the sort of chef to turn his hand to ramen and yakitori. But that&#8217;s what he&#8217;s done.
