{"id":22036,"date":"2016-06-20T23:03:52","date_gmt":"2016-06-21T03:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/?p=22036"},"modified":"2016-06-20T23:03:52","modified_gmt":"2016-06-21T03:03:52","slug":"im-the-man-in-purple-im-the-man-in-black","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/2016\/06\/20\/im-the-man-in-purple-im-the-man-in-black\/","title":{"rendered":"I&#8217;m the man in purple, I&#8217;m the man in black"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ll be attending three conventions over the next two months&#8212;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2016\/06\/15\/where-youll-find-me-next-month-at-escape-velocity\/\">Escape Velocity<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/tag\/readercon\/\">Readercon<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/tag\/worldcon\/\">Worldcon<\/a>&#8212;but before those roll around, I have a couple of things to share with you about the two most recent conventions in the rear view mirror.<\/p>\n<p>First&#8212;I already shared  pics of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/2016\/05\/17\/how-i-won-at-saturdays-stoker-awards-banquet\/\">the remarkable suit I wore<\/a> when the Horror Writers Association handed out its Bram Stoker Awards in Las Vegas last month. But would&#8217;t you like to see that suit in action? <\/p>\n<p>Here I am with Weston Ochse, handing out the award for Superior Achievement in a Graphic Novel &#8230; and immediately becoming a punchline for one of Jeff Strand&#8217;s jokes.
