{"id":20538,"date":"2015-09-08T20:01:05","date_gmt":"2015-09-09T00:01:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/?p=20538"},"modified":"2015-09-08T20:01:05","modified_gmt":"2015-09-09T00:01:05","slug":"check-out-the-promo-video-for-next-restaurants-newest-menu-terroir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/2015\/09\/08\/check-out-the-promo-video-for-next-restaurants-newest-menu-terroir\/","title":{"rendered":"Check out the promo video for Next restaurant&#8217;s newest menu: Terroir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/next.tocktix.com\/#\/home\">Next<\/a> released a video earlier today for its new menu&#8212;Terroir&#8212;which will be the restaurant&#8217;s fifteenth incarnation. <\/p>\n<p>As anyone who knows me knows, I love, love, <em>love<\/em> Next.  The amazing food is the main reason, of course. But there&#8217;s also the fact that Next is a culinary Brigadoon, here for a brief time, then gone, changing its theme three times a year. With most restaurants, you can always say, &#8220;Oh, I&#8217;ll head there some other time.&#8221;  Not so with Next. <\/p>\n<p>Miss a menu and you&#8217;ve lost your chance forever. Which, for me, gives each meal an added emotional resonance. It&#8217;s like tasting a dream.<\/p>\n<p>Hyperbole? OK, sure, somewhat. But not by much. Which is why I made it to six of the fourteen menus Next has hosted so far.<\/p>\n<p>But now comes Terroir, which has its first service tomorrow. The three menus for 2016 are still being conceived by the chefs, and likely won&#8217;t be announced until the first week of December. <\/p>\n<p>One thing I do know, though.
