A couple of weeks ago, I tweeted mysteriously<\/a> about a new DC Comics cover featuring Superboy, the Legion of Super-Heroes, and the Atomic Knights, hinting that its existence was meaningful to me. Many wondered if I was implying I’d be writing comics again, but for reasons alluded to in this recent interview<\/a>, that’s unlikely to ever happen.<\/p>\n

To those who asked over on Twitter<\/a> and Facebook<\/a> what I could possibly have meant, your answer can be summed up with another DC comic book cover, one from a long, long time ago.<\/p>\n

1962, to be precise.<\/p>\n

That’s the year Strange Adventures<\/em> #144 was published, with this gorgeous cover art by Murphy Anderson. <\/p>\n

A cover which has been part of my wife’s collection for decades, and which will be auctioned off by Heritage<\/a> in a couple of months.<\/p>\n

A cover which happens to be the only<\/em> time the Atomic Knights ever<\/em> appeared on a cover of Strange Adventures<\/em>.<\/p>\n

See why I was so pleased DC brought the Atomic Knights back into the public consciousness as part of its Convergence event? This auction of our historically important cover could use all the buzz it can get. (Because, to be honest, we could use all the cash it can get.)<\/p>\n
