{"id":18501,"date":"2010-07-28T23:21:49","date_gmt":"2010-07-29T03:21:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/?p=18501"},"modified":"2015-02-03T15:15:19","modified_gmt":"2015-02-03T20:15:19","slug":"how-much-do-you-want-for-the-kaluta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/2010\/07\/28\/how-much-do-you-want-for-the-kaluta\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;How Much Do You Want for the Kaluta?&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve been so busy preparing for, reporting on, and recovering from Comic-Con that I&#8217;ve had no time to share my thoughts about it here, so why not let a picture stand in for those thousand words?<\/p>\n<p>One afternoon, as I was racing from one end of the humongous exhibit hall to the other, I spotted a dealer selling the original art for the cover to an issue of <i>Doorway to Nightmare<\/i> I&#8217;d written long, long ago. (Make that long, long, <i>long<\/i> ago.) So I stopped my power walking and asked, &#8220;How much do you want for the Kaluta?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The dealer&#8217;s answer? &#8220;Thirty.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>You do realize I was meant to add three zeroes after that number, right?
