We wanted more of the Marvel madmen, and fewer non-comics performances. Though seeing <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Eddie_Carmel\">Eddie Carmel<\/a>, &#8220;The Jewish Giant,&#8221; who I recall being present as sort of a living version of The Hulk, was kind of cool.<\/p>\n<p>In any case, happy birthday, Roy!<\/p>\n<p>And thanks again!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roy Thomas, the first editor-in-chief under whom I served at Marvel Comics, turned 69 today.
