A new month has begun, so it’s time to corral all of the previous month’s dreams that I shared on Twitter<\/a> and see what sense they make when placed in close proximity. There are far fewer dreams below than in any other month since I started doing this, for which I blame our recent vacation in Santiago<\/a> and Easter Island<\/a>. Due to exhaustion, many of my dreams effervesced upon waking and could not be recorded … which for someone with an active dream life like mine is unsettling.<\/p>\n

In any case, check out last month’s dreams, which included guest appearances from Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robert Silverberg, Robert Blake, and many others …<\/p>\n

February 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I found Michael Swanwick, Gardner Dozois and others on a looong line, but never found the front, or learned why they were waiting. Feb 28<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt I arrived at a church where I was volunteering, saw others on hands and knees scrubbing the sidewalk, and thought, “this is bogus.”\u2028 Feb 28<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dream I bumped into Nancy Kress, who forced $20 on me, claimed it was payment for a photo, then ran off, leaving me totally baffled. \u2028Feb 28<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt (for no discernible reason) that Robert Blake was dressed like a bishop, and kept tripping as he walked down the street. Strange.\u2028 Feb 27<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I was Santa, but instead of riding ON the sleigh, I’d fallen off and was being dragged behind. And the damn reindeer wouldn’t stop!\u2028 Feb 27<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt it was in the old timey days, and I was riding the rails with my boss, and there was foreshadowing that there’d be a train robbery.\u2028 Feb 27<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt an old lady stopped me on the street and asked me to play “Good Night, Irene” on my ukulele. I said — Are you sure? It’s so SAD! \u2028Feb 27<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I rowed furiously across a stormy ocean until I hit land. But I soon realized I’d come to rest on the back of a huge sea creature!\u2028 Feb 26<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt Paul Witcover and I had discovered a cache of badly drawn Western comics from the ’50s, but were managing to enjoy them anyway. \u2028Feb 25<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I was to receive a juggling trophy, but I was late for the ceremony because @IreneVartanoff<\/a> had trouble getting through security.\u2028 Feb 25<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I was at a modeling agency expressing doubts about their plans for my daughter, so the owner flew into a rage and threw me out.\u2028 Feb 25<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I was back in Chile, but rather than wandering Santiago streets, I was walking down the middle of a highway, dodging traffic.\u2028 Feb 24<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I visited Paul Di Filippo, and he was just napping, napping, napping, so I read through his old magazines waiting for him to wake.\u2028 Feb 24<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt Patrick O’Leary and I visited a tiny bookstore so dark we had to use the light from our iPhones to peruse the books on the shelves.\u2028 Feb 22<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I returned home to find a baby bulldog and ferret had gotten inside. The bulldog was affectionate, but the ferret bared its teeth.\u2028 Feb 21<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt I was on the phone with Robert Silverberg, helping him refinance. Rates scrolled by on my screen, and I tried to grab the lowest.\u2028 Feb 19<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt I was shoveling snow from my driveway. The REAL snow from my REAL driveway. What kind of wasted dream is that?\u2028 Feb 17<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt there was a guy with whom I had a connection to feel each other’s pain. As we were about to fight, I thought, “This’ll be weird.”\u2028 Feb 17<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I wandered a street fair not really enjoying it because I was squinting at the sun and wishing I’d remembered my sunglasses.\u2028 Feb 16<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt a group of us at a uke camp were attempting to play “Boil Them Cabbage Down” but lost our way, even though it’s a VERY simple song.\u2028 Feb 16<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt I was in a long line leaving Russia when an official swooped in, took my passport, vanished. I feared he wouldn’t return in time.\u2028 Feb 16<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt @EllenDatlow<\/a> was decluttering and dumped a huge stack of magazines on a freebie table at a con. I looked, but already had them all. \u2028Feb 15<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

\u2028I dreamt I dueted on “I Could Have Danced All Night” with Philip Seymour Hoffman, but even with sheet music, I kept forgetting the words.\u2028 Feb 15<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n

I dreamt I’d been slipped a psychotropic drug, and in the midst of my hallucinations, Batman was telling me I needed to vomit it out.\u2028 Feb 15<\/em> \u2028<\/p>\n
