{"id":491,"date":"2011-02-14T15:05:02","date_gmt":"2011-02-14T20:05:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/"},"modified":"2024-01-20T12:04:14","modified_gmt":"2024-01-20T17:04:14","slug":"marvel-spotlight-26-february-1976","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.scottedelman.com\/wordpress\/comic-books\/marvel-spotlight-26-february-1976\/","title":{"rendered":"Marvel Spotlight #26 (February 1976)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I remember the Scarecrow&#8217;s second appearance more for the mention of Andy Kaufman I squeezed into the script than for the story itself. <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d spent most of the summer of 1975 at the Improv Comedy Club in New York, loved Kaufman&#8217;s act, and asked him, in those pre-<em>Taxi<\/em> days, whether he minded if I mentioned him in print. And so I had two of the characters enter a scene debating whether Kaufman was funny or a faker.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, I never learned whether or not he liked it.<\/p>\n<p>The story &#8220;Death Waters of the River Styx,&#8221; drawn by Ruben Yandoc, appeared in <em>Marvel Spotlight<\/em> #26 (February 1976). It was the character&#8217;s second and final solo appearance.
