Me, my iPhone, and how long it takes to get to Mars

Posted by: Scott    Tags:  technology    Posted date:  September 18, 2014  |  No comment

My iPhone 5 battery has been limping along, requiring constant recharging to get me through the day, but since I’m happy with the phone and not eager to drop big bucks on the new iPhone 6, I figured I’d check to see how much it would cost to swap in a new battery. And surprise, surprise, Apple turns out to have a battery replacement program.

Because:

Apple has determined that a very small percentage of iPhone 5 devices may suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently. The affected iPhone 5 devices were sold between September 2012 and January 2013 and fall within a limited serial number range.

If your iPhone 5 is experiencing these symptoms and meets the eligibility requirements noted below, Apple will replace your iPhone 5 battery, free of charge.

And also surprise, surprise, plugging in my iPhone’s serial number shows that I’m eligible. So I made an appointment at the Genius Bar, and am hoping the process won’t be a long one.

Since the site gives no indication of how much time this will take, I went to Google and started typing, “How long does it take … ”

But before I could complete the phrase, autocomplete filled in the five most popular things online searchers are wondering about. And they’re not at all what I would I have thought.

howlong

So how long does it take to get to Mars anyway?
