Three New Iris I Was (Almost) Too Busy to See

Posted by: Scott    Tags:  garden    Posted date:  May 20, 2010  |  No comment

It’s gotten busy around here, so busy that I’m not shaving, and barely taking time away from the keyboard for meals. Yesterday, I even forgot to walk to the end of the driveway to check for mail! And for a writer not to check his mail … well, you know how busy that means I must be!

But I forced myself away from the computer for a few minutes to take a look at three new varieties of iris which bloomed today.

First up, Lime Fizz, which I bought last year at Exline Iris Garden.

Next comes River Hawk, picked up at the same time. It may look similar to one of the earlier varieties, but that one had white upper petals, while these seem a pale lavender.

And finally, one of our older iris, which looks similar to an earlier purple variety I shared, but the purple of this one isn’t quite as deep.

To see all 16 varieties so far, check out flickr.

Now you’ll have to excuse me—I need to get back to work!
