The Unexpected #197 (April 1980)

I’m willing to bet that my supernatural tale in this issue was the only time a story from one of DC’s horror comics was ever adapted into an episode of a TV show. (If I’m wrong, you’ll let me know, won’t you?)

“My Ghost Writer, the Vampire,” the six-page comic book story of mine drawn by Tenny Henson, was adapted into “My Ghost Writer, the Vampire,” an episode of Tales From the Darkside.

But they’re both about a lousy horror writer who becomes a bestseller after he makes a deal with a vampire to hide the bloodsucker during the days in exchange for the knowledge to write better books. (Hint: It doesn’t end well for the writer. But when does it ever?)
