House of Mystery #258 (June 1978)

If you’ve read the titles of some of my early short stories, you already know that I once had a weakness for bad puns—a weakness I hope I’ve overcome.

But it was certainly in evidence in the title of the six-page horror story published here, “Gargoyle Twice A Day,” drawn by Danny Bulanadi and Bob McLeod.

A couple of thugs trying to extort protection money out of the owner of a funhouse meet their end in sort of the way you’d expect from one of these twisted tales.
