Some superheroes are tastier than others. Take Captain Carvel, for example. Just thinking of him zooming around the planet in that flying saucer of his is getting me hungry.
I wrote one issue of this magazine Marvel produced for Carvel, which involved the hero solving “The Mystery of the Missing Ice Cream” … which also involved me having an interesting meeting with the execs at Carvel headquarters to go over the original artwork. I still have a few early pencilled pages before they were redrawn to reflect the preferred flavors and ingredients.
Unfortunately, I don’t think I got any free ice cream out of the deal.
