Barney and Toni Edelman's
50th Anniversary

Some things were meant to go together: Peanut butter and jelly. Rock and roll. Romeo and Juliet.

Barney and Toni Edelman, who were married on January 24, 1954, belong at the top of that list—and unlike Romeo and Juliet, they're still together 50 years later.

Welcome to some of the highlights of five wonderful decades, starting with the years before they found each other.

Long before they met,
Mom was on the lookout
for the right man—

—and lucky for her,
here comes Dad!

Dad tries his luck at a

but the true prize
was still to come

Dad was a Coney Island lifeguard,
but the lives they saved
were each other's

Dad tests his strength,
and he's had enough
for 50 years—so far!
